B40 Sideboard by Dieter Waeckerlin in Rio rosewood for BEHR
B40 Sideboard Dieter Waeckerlin Behr edition
Large 1960s sideboard by Swiss designer-architect Dieter Waeckerlin for German publisher Behr.
B40 model, rare in Rio rosewood—this is our third piece in the gallery. Behr produced only 100 examples. The interior is maple.
What sets Dieter Waeckerlin apart from other designers is the understated, clean lines and ideal proportions he brings to all his furniture. Great care is taken in the choice of veneers and grain patterns. The hardware was also designed to be invisible: try to find the door hinge…
This minimalist design stands the test of time without aging a day; it will fit just as well in an ultra-contemporary interior as in a vintage one, in a living room as in an office.
Doors with invisible handles.
Exceptionally fine cabinetmaking.
The metal base is stainless steel.
Highly functional interior layout with removable sliding trays with handles, plus a sliding, portable “bottle bar” section.
