The Ölddesign gallery is not only passionate about design and art, but also about architecture more specifically, a movement of particular interest: Modernism. Modernist architecture, which emerged in the first half of the 20th century, is defined by functionalism, minimalism, and rationalism. Auguste Perret, Le Corbusier, Marcel Breuer, Robert Mallet-Stevens, and many other architects introduced a new approach to construction, breaking away from the conventions of the past. Their work was based on new ideas and the use of emerging materials of the time: concrete, steel, and glass.<br>This enduring interest in the Modernist movement, its figures, and the architects who have shaped and continue to shape it today. I would like to share this through this blog, as I explore exhibitions, revisit works, read, and make new discoveries. Carlos
