Pierre Paulin Daybed for Ligne Roset

Pierre Paulin Model 118 Daybed for Ligne Roset. Designed in 1953, the year Pierre Paulin exhibited this daybed at the Salon des Arts Ménagers.

The first version was produced by Meuble TV. Great designers of the 1950s such as Alain Richard, André Monpoix, Pierre Guariche, and André Simard designed furniture for this publishing house, founded by Robert Vecchione.

This daybed offers exemplary functionality and modularity.

Composed of a solid beech and walnut frame, all finished with a natural satin varnish. This daybed rests on a round tubular base of black lacquered steel.

The seating features a high-quality anthracite bouclé fabric mattress. Seating comfort is provided by a steel frame equipped with elastic straps. The backrests are in beige/grey and red fabric. A beautiful blend of materials. These are the original colors from the first 1953 edition.

The two rectangular backrests are removable and can be placed on the wooden top, which can serve as a coffee table, to form an extra bed, a daybed for one person, or a 3-seater sofa.

The foams are High Resilience.

Stamped with the Pierre Paulin and Ligne Roset label on the fabric of one backrest.

High-quality finish, like all Ligne Roset products.

Small marks on the top’s varnish are noted, but they are minor given the overall very good condition of this daybed.
