Dining table by Georges Frydman for EFA.
Rectangular walnut dining table from the 1960s by Georges Frydman for the manufacturer EFA.
It perfectly embodies 1950s French modernism with its use of wood and steel.
Can be used as a desk.
The table has two extension leaves that slide into the steel runners at each end.
The base is made of steel with an original gray finish.
This table is in good vintage condition.
The tabletop and extensions have been restored (using eco-label varnish). There is a minor, insignificant mark on the tabletop measuring 1 cm². The steel frame has been left in its original condition. Traces of its past are therefore visible, but this gives it its beautiful, unique patina. A new coat of gray or black paint is available upon request.
The table bears the stamp of the 1950s–60s store Paul Lambert Meubles Exclusifs in Lyon 02; it is well documented in period catalogs and interior design magazines from the 1950s and 1960s. In the last photo, you can see the table set in a room featuring Knoll curtains and Pierre Guariche’s barrel-back chairs for Steiner. The description is provided below the photo; a copy will be provided upon purchase.
