Created in the 1950s by Florence Knoll, this large coffee table perfectly embodies the American modernist aesthetic developed by the designer for Knoll. Its design is based on a particularly clean, geometric construction, combining a wooden top with a slender black metal frame. It bears a Knoll label affixed beneath the tabletop.

This version, which is rarely seen today, is distinguished by its rectangular teak tabletop, whose warm tones and natural grain elegantly contrast with the black metal base.

The base, composed of square and rectangular metal profiles, forms a graphic structure that emphasizes the piece’s architectural character.
It has not been restored and retains its original patina.
Upon request, the frame can be repainted in its original color. The junction between the tabletop and the metal frame is one of this model’s signature details; the tabletop rests on a hidden wooden riser that runs around the frame, creating the illusion of levitation.

The teak tabletop has been restored to restore its beautiful finish and highlight the wood’s natural grain, while preserving the piece’s vintage character.

This Florence Knoll coffee table is a fine example of mid-20th-century American design, characterized by a quest for balance between functionality, formal simplicity, and high-quality materials.
