Its design is based on a particularly clean, geometric construction, combining a wooden top with a slender black metal frame. It bears a Knoll label affixed beneath the tabletop.

This version, which is rarely seen today, is distinguished by its rectangular teak tabletop, whose warm tones and natural grain elegantly contrast with the black metal base.

The base, composed of square and rectangular metal profiles, forms a graphic structure that emphasizes the piece’s architectural character.
It has not been restored and retains its original patina.
Upon request, the frame can be repainted in its original color. The junction between the tabletop and the metal frame is one of this model’s signature details; the tabletop rests on a hidden wooden riser that runs around the frame, creating the illusion of levitation.

The teak tabletop has been restored to restore its beautiful finish and highlight the wood’s natural grain, while preserving the piece’s vintage character.

This Florence Knoll coffee table is a fine example of mid-20th-century American design, characterized by a quest for balance between functionality, formal simplicity, and high-quality materials.

Features

Designer : Florence Knoll

Manufacturer: Knoll

Period: 1950s

Origin: United States

Style: Mid-Century Modern

Materials: teak and metal

Base: black metal

Top: restored teak

Type: coffee table

Shape: rectangular

Condition: very good vintage condition, restored top

Composition & Dimensions

Tabletop

Restored teak tabletop, finished with French Ecolabel varnish meeting toy safety standards.

Length: 140 cm

Depth: 60 cm

Base

Frame made of square metal profiles

Black finish

Modernist base, characteristic of Florence Knoll’s furniture

Overall dimensions

Length: 140 cm

Depth: 60 cm

Height: 43 cm

This Florence Knoll coffee table stands out for its shallow rectangular shape, which is particularly well-suited to living spaces where you want an elegant table without visually weighing down the room.

OldDesign ships throughout France and Europe.
Worldwide shipping available.

Rectangular Florence Knoll coffee table from the 1950s, made of restored teak and black metal.
