Its suspended storage system allows for the creation of a unit that is at once functional, elegant, and particularly graphic.

Crafted from precious Rio rosewood, this composition was the luxury version featured in the Cado catalog in the 1960s.
The wall brackets accommodate the various components using the Cado mounting system, allowing for flexible adjustment of their position and arrangement.

The boomerang-shaped brackets, Poul Cadovius’s signature design, lend the entire piece a sense of visual lightness. The absence of a bulky floor-standing structure helps maintain a sense of space while offering ample storage capacity.

This exceptionally comprehensive set combines six shelves of varying depths, a cabinet with sliding doors, a chest of drawers, a hanging display cabinet, a cabinet with a hinged door and lock, and a rare magazine rack.

The set is stamped “Made in Denmark” on the back of the units and shelves and is in excellent vintage condition with a superb patina on the Rio rosewood. The tops of the units have been restored with a French Eco-label varnish that meets the standard for wooden toys.

Features

Designer : Poul Cadovius

Manufacturer: Cado

Period: 1960s

Origin: Denmark

Materials: Rio rosewoodux : palissandre de Rio

Type: Modular wall-mounted shelving system

Stamp: “Made in Denmark”

Condition: Very good vintage condition

Composition & Dimensions

Shelves

6 shelves

4 shelves: 80 cm wide × 22 cm deep

2 shelves: 80 cm wide × 30 cm deep

Sliding Door Module

1 removable, height-adjustable interior shelf

H. 42.5 cm × W. 80 cm × D. 38 cm

Chest of drawers module. 3 drawers

H. 42.5 cm × W. 80 cm × D. 38 cm

Display cabinet module

Sliding glass doors with glass shelves

H. 56 cm × W. 80 cm × D. 22 cm

Folding-door module

Folding door with lock and key

H. 42.5 cm × W. 80 cm × D. 38 cm

Magazine rack

Magazine rack

Width: 80 cm

Height: 35 cm

Overall dimensions

Total length: 244 cm

Total Height: 208 cm

Height of uprights: 202 cm

OldDesign ships throughout France and Europe.
Worldwide shipping available.

Check out our other Poul Cadovius bookcase sets currently available.

• Royal System avec table intégrée

Poul Cadovius wall bookcase for Cado in Rio rosewood, 1960s.
